Scottsdale
The first destination where we planned to visit people rather than places was Scottsdale, AZ. I'm not going to write much about Scottsdale. It's big enough, popular enough, and well-known enough that they have their own Official Travel Site.
We stayed 3 nights at the Eagle View RV park across from the We-Ko-Pa casino in Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. I had an enjoyable lunch catching up with an erstwhile co-worker and we spent a lot of time with my cousin and his wife, who had recently relocated from Connecticut. They were quite hospitable showing us around their new city. Aside from the company, a real highlight was the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) right next door in Phoenix. We spent almost the entire time in the Artist Gallery where we saw, among other treasures, Buddy Rich's drums, Pablo Casals cello, Glenn Campbell's prototype Ovation guitar, Clara Rockmore's theremin, and a good collection of Elvis memorabilia. It would be well worth another visit to see more.
A good looking city ...
... with good looking people (haha!) ...
... and good looking fruit. A parting gift from my cousin's backyard. You won't get this in Connecticut!
